BIN or Warehouse/Store Locations | Inventory Control Overview

Windward System Five can keep track of your inventory locations. On each inventory record, you can enter the bin location of where the item is stored. This allows the sales people to quickly locate the items for a customer.

In a warehouse situation, the system can optionally print the Pick Slip sorted by location. This will allow you to move through the warehouse in an orderly fashion to fill a customer's order. For example, a food wholesaler could sort the inventory by dry goods, cooler goods and freezer goods so that all the freezer items are picked at one time. In the freezer, the items could again be sorted by location to minimize the time spent searching and filling the order.

If you are operating multiple stores or warehouses, Windward's optional department module will allow you to keep track of where the inventory is, warehouse by warehouse or store by store. Salespeople can then readily check for inventory in other branches if their location is out of stock. This will prevent lost sales by being able to transfer in another store's stock.
