Windward Software is pleased to inform you that the new release of System Five (version 5.42) is now available to you.

WHAT’S NEW

Listed below is a small sampling of some of the new features that are included in System Five version 5.42.  For a complete listing of new features, please visit the on-line Self Help link and click on What’s New from the menu: http://mywindward.wws5.com/selfhelp/

 

New Features:

Ø       The Touch Screen Category button now allows for selection of multiple items in a single operation. 

Ø       A new Gift Enclosure setup window has been added for setting printing options and a new Gift_Enclosure option has been added to the Touch Screen setup. 

Ø       A new method has been added to allow making negative Stock Adjustments and adding adjustment comments.

Ø       The Touch Screen Designer now allows access to a dynamic list of Menu and Invoice Actions

Ø       New Slip Printer Tender Codes have been added to facilitate customizing or excluding the Change Line. 

Ø       A new Matrix Only reporting mode as been added to the Inventory Report Designer Options. 

Ø       When printing a Purchase Order with a size matrix, the matrix can now be sorted based on style, cost and size and grouped for printing. 

Ø       The Bills and PO Reconciliation report has a new option to only show PO ' s with no bills against them. 

Ø       A new Rental Printing Options window has been added to the Rental Setup options

Ø       Miscellaneous parts can now be special ordered when entered at the point of sale.

HOW DO I GET THE UPDATE?

You can apply the new release version 5.42 by opening System Five, click on the Utilities menu in the grey menu bar and then click on Windward System Five FTP Update.  Follow the instructions.  Please read the "HOW DO I AVOID PROBLEMS WHILE UPDATING" section below before running the update.

 

Please ensure that you backup your data and update your Training Dataset before you apply the update to your LIVE dataset.

 

HOW DO I AVOID PROBLEMS WHILE UPDATING?   

Many of the update problems that are reported to Support can be avoided by taking the following important steps: 

·         The most important thing you can do is to thoroughly read and understand the update instructions before starting to run the update.  To access the instructions, please visit the on-line Self Help:

Ø       Go to the Self Help site: http://mywindward.wws5.com/selfhelp/

Ø       Click on the Peripheral, Software Installation and Maintenance menu item (left side of screen)

Ø       Click on Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Ø       Click on Updating System Five with the FTP updater

·         Ensure all System Five users are logged out of System Five (live and training datasets) before running the update. 

·         Do not stop or interrupt the update once you start running it.
